EVO small group PT gym in Didsbury have recently been in touch via my friend Ellen who attends their classes to offer an ‘in kind’ donation in the form of a PAYF class to raise money for my treatment – watch this space! Thanks guys, can’t wait to join you all in Manchester soon.
Big thanks again to Pete Harper at Transfer Magic in Edinburgh is was one of my first sponsors and a Gold Tier sponsor. He has not only offered support with finances but has also commited to doing a 100 mile bike ride to raise money for my cancer treatment!
On 12th July 2026, Pete will be embarking on the North Bucks Bike Ride in Buckinghamshire, England to raise funds and you can view his Gofundme here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/100-miles-for-nic
Pete has completed several 100 mile ‘sportive’ rides in the past, the most recent in 2023. Life and work (or a lack of at times!) have got in the way of Pete consistently cycling and generally keeping fit and healthy, physically and mentally, over the last few years.
The ride is titled the North Bucks Bike Ride, an area of the country where Pete originally grew up and still has family in the area. Luckily for Pete the route does not go too near the local Chiltern Hills but there is still circa 3,500ft of ascent over the 100 miles, a route not to be sniffed at!
Updates such as training rides reports will be available on this page as well as on Pete’s Strava and Garmin profiles:
Thanks so much to Wayne at Pure Gym Eccles for putting my mate Sue through her paces before we start the Coast to Coast next week. Looks like she learnt a thing or two about strength and stamina for long walks and hopefully will be ready to take on the first 60 miles across the Lake District 👀 I just pray that I’m fit enough now!!
This has been a busy week with offers of support coming flooding in, not least from University of Leeds staff who read about my C2C challenge on the intranet. The press office had picked up my story when it was covered in the Bolton News and contacted me to ask for more details. I am very much indebted to the generosity of my colleagues – thank you all from the bottom of my heart. As an alumni student and current member of staff it makes me proud to see how much love and encouragement has come my way.
Coporate sponsors have also been contacting me to offer financial backing; most recently Ison Harrison Solicitors in Leeds joined my Silver Tier Supporters by pledging £150. They are now the proud owners of my digital supporter badge and window sticker! My heartfelt thanks for supporting my mission.
You can see details of more backers and find out how to get involved by going to this page on my website.
